Manila / Philippines - Born Art Guevarra is an aspring all - terrain Bass player, whose music is a fusion of influences ranging from Sinatra to Modern Herbie Hancock. Art, who is now a Jersey City resident, first came to NYC 20 years ago to advance and pursue his musical career. He studied with Barry Harris a famous NYC Jazz teacher. He also attended the Brooklyn Conservatory Jazz program. He played and toured with "The Buddy Miles Express" in the early 90's and with Angela Bofill, Phoebe Snow, The Late Lou Rawls also with jazz great Eumir Deodato at the Java Jazz Festival 2005. "I knew I wanted to be a bass player when, as a kid, I heard the bassline to "Psychedelic Shack" by the Temptations - it was solid grooving tune, and can really move mountains".Art, currently enjoys playing with Opera3000 - a top NJ Band.
